Zeke's Guide: finding what you need in the UNH Library

What is an annotated bibliography?

It is a list of citations to books, articles, websites, etc.

Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, called the annotation.

The purpose is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy and quality of the sources cited.

The following publication, available at the Reference Desk, Dimond Library gives more detail and examples:

Harmer, James L. On compiling an annotated bibliography.
New York: Modern Language Association of America, 2000.
