One of the Internet's best-known and most popular portals includes a search engine and a directory.

Ask.com
Establishes relevancy ranking by subject-specific popularity

Live Search
Microsoft Web search engine

MetaCrawler and Dogpile
These engines search several search engines simultaneously and quickly.

Ditto
Searches for visuals and pictures.

Searches archived Usenet news group postings.

Internet Archive - Wayback Machine
Browse through 85 billion web pages archived from 1996 to a few months ago. Has separate archives for moving images, texts, audio, and software.
